Review of “The Opposite Way”

“The Algorithm Called ‘Me’”

The first introduction of the book is provocative. It shows “me” without explaining what “self-awareness” is. The consciousness we have of ourselves is mostly an automatic thought that takes place in the so-called unconscious mind, and the fact that it is nothing more than an algorithm that was formed in the Stone Age and has not been properly updated is quite shocking. The power of the straightforwardness that reveals itself in a hundred days without any ritualistic gestures, not because of ignorance but because of its power, is tremendous. Readers have no choice but to accept it without any excuses. I felt it was the most powerful persuasive argument.

Courage to show a garbage dump full of self-awareness

The next step is to stubbornly dig into the greediness of the automatic defense mechanism created by self-awareness. It delves into how typical comments on success stories and methodologies are derived from what kind of basic psychology. It shows that the automatic defense mechanism that we have piled up like treasure to protect ourselves is nothing more than shells and animal bones collected to survive in the Stone Age environment. The subject matter is an abstract thought system, but the way it is explained has a trembling sense of reality. This method is similar to the treatment method of “Gestalt psychology,” which persistently digs into it without violating politeness and makes the patient face reality.

Success built on reasoning and contemplation_Why his success is so solid

In the considerable amount of personal history described later, what caught my eye was not his dramatic success story, but rather his description of “core formation through self-proclamation.” If you go back in time to find the foundation of today’s success, you will meet philosophy and college student Song Myung-jin. The time spent reading books blindly at Ansan Library became the foundation of his solid thinking, which was completed as philosophy. Therefore, he believes that his success did not become volatile, but rather made newly created cases of success bind together perfectly like wooden pillars in a Korean traditional house.

Tit-for-Tat_ Correspondence strategy for three types of people

The three types according to human behavior patterns are intuitive and therefore more interesting. Matcher with unconscious cool guy style, Taker with twisted effort style, Giver who produces results at both ends of the spectrum. The reason why Giver’s class splits into two extremes instead of staying in the middle is whether or not they have both “discrimination” and “firmness.” And the reason why Giver can stand at the top of the class by suppressing Matcher and Taker is simple. Only Giver has subjective thinking that can handle both remaining groups, which means that Matcher and Taker are unconscious beings like NPCs in games. An awakened Giver who realizes and practices Tit-for-Tat strategy considered as a winning method in game theory is our final role model.

Four winning methods for brain activation_ All knowledge so far has been wrong

2-2 strategy for reading and writing, routine restructuring, physical training, sufficient sleep. The four methods were so powerful and familiar that I already knew them but didn’t feel bored. Especially in the case of sufficient sleep, there was a feeling that its value and importance were being undermined by being covered by ‘Miracle Morning’ movement recently, but it leads perfect persuasion with solid evidence and large fonts. I was really happy with these real brain activation methods that do not torture my brain for show.

Materializing imagination_ Magic called ‘execution’ that cannot be refuted because it is too simple

Write down five emphasized words on Naver Blog. Upload any video on YouTube. Is this difficult? Refuting these two sentences’ contents is meaningless. We all know that only execution is the answer, but this powerful practice method that makes excuses impossible behind it is new. That’s why this book became a bestseller.

One-line summary_ If you’re jealous, say you’re jealous. That’s how you get better.

I’m glad I found a book like an ax that destroys anxiety. It’s time to go practice now.
